Lelystad has the following qualities: good infra-structure and accessibility, the proximity of various recreational facilities (parks, lakes, nature areas). The Avenues (Dreven) constitute an important element of Lelystad’s infra. There are, however, negative aspects of thes avenues: monotony, the lack of spatial quality, and the autonomous and introverted character, the avenues acting as barriers between the surrounding neighbourhoods and making no connection between the city centre and the coast of Ysselmeer. Our propasal will allow the Visarenddreef to become a connecting link between surrounding neighboorhoods rather than acting as a barrier. This will be achieved by allowing the Visarenddreef to accommodate various fucntions which will have a positive impact, in ways of recreation, working space, and socio-cultural services.The site plan provides for 110 housing units, of which 78 have ground access. In addition, it provides for 1600 m2 commercial space and socio-cultural facilities, as well as 1200 m2 recreational facilities. The ground groundlevel is without parking lots. The cars can be parked in the various buildings.
